Hazmat Incident at Sandy Shores Motel

The Major Crimes Division has alerted the public to a hazardous contamination incident at the Sandy Shores Abandoned Motel on Algonquin Blvd.

According to police:

Officers quickly became aware of a hazardous contamination scene, that was located in one of the second floor rooms of the Sandy Shores abandoned Motel on Algonquin Boulevard. Officers quickly secured the scene and hazmat officers responded to deal with this matter. 

Upon processing and clearing the room, It was advised that the room would remain unsafe and could pose risk to life if left unsecure for the next few days while the room vents. Upon this advice Law Enforcement placed police tape around the building and very clear warnings on the building itself and outside the room for the general public to avoid entering.

    I was chased off the scene. Apparently having a shotgun in public is “threatening” and “illegal.”
