When you hear the word “Satanist,” what comes to mind? Red horns? Ritual sacrifice? The Conjuring? Personally, I thought about Tom Ellis from that Lucifer TV Show because DAMN!
Well, if you thought of any of these like I did, while some of the imagery may be accurate, a lot of it is… well, not. Let me explain.
A supposed Satanist left a tip at all available news stations in late February, claiming to have sacrificed people and animals in an attempt to bring back his “lord”, Satan.
Although we’ve received several updates from Useless News on what this individual has been up to, the reasoning behind his actions remains disconnected from reality and psychotic. While his actions fit the stereotypes often portrayed in media and literature about Satanists, he isn’t acting like one.
In actuality, his sort of “worship” happens to be concepts and ideals created centuries ago to scare and intimidate children and peasants alike. It’s hard to explain in a simple article — It’s a complicated subject historically and a topic still generally controversial.
Nonetheless, to clear the air about Satanism, I sought-out and spoke to an actual modern-day Satanist. The following is a passage written by an anonymous person to prevent misunderstandings and misinterpretations of an already scrutinized ideology:
