Both the Department of Corrections Warden and Department of Human Services Director have announced their resignations today.

In the first press release, the Governors Office announced the retirement of Corrections Warden Vienna Turner. Warden Turner had been in the role since late February 2024.

In a statement, the outgoing warden thanked the department, and thank incoming Warden and current Deputy Rochelle Cassidy for their dedication and integrity.

After a year of leadership and service to the San Andreas Department of Corrections, I, Warden Turner, am officially announcing my retirement.

It’s been an honour and privilege to lead this department since its inception a year ago and to work alongside such an excellent team throughout. I am proud to announce that the department will now be led by Deputy Warden Cassidy.

Having worked closely with her over the past year, I am confident she will lead with integrity, compassion, and the forward-thinking approach needed to elevate our department further.

To the people of San Andreas, thank you for your trust and support. To my colleagues in the Department of Corrections, thank you for your time and effort, it doesn’t go unnoticed.

While I may be retiring from my official duties for now, I will always be an avid supporter of the department.

In a second press release, the Governors Office announced to resignation of Human Services Director Miles Matthews.

In the statement, Governor Barbant thanked Director Matthews for their service.

The Executive would like to formally thank Director Miles Matthews for his work as the head of DHS over the past year.

The Department of Human Services is a staple within this State and something that I have always been passionate about.

The Executive team will continue to monitor, care, and support DHS at every turn!

Governor Jeremy Barbant (LHP)

The statement didn’t confirm who would be joining the executive as Director, and no executive nomination has been put forward.

The pair join out-going Secretary of State Winifred Baker, who stepped down last week.

Normally three high-ranking resignations in the span of five days would be a sign of a government in distress and crisis. However, with high approvals, high trust, and an election looming, the Barbant Administration is seemingly bringing in fresh, well-rested people for the busy campaigning season, which begins next week.
