An anarchist branded group, which calls itself “The People’s Movement” (TPM), has been making an impression on the public after leaving a number of provocative anti-authority posters targeting the government and police around the state, including outside multiple news agencies’ headquarters.
This isn’t the first anti-government group which has propped up in the state, with the notorious cult “The Whisperers” being an extreme example of such sentiment. Citizens have also gathered at City Hall to protest past administrations, with such events being a regular occurrence of the Bright-Starr administration. In the first of two messages to our news organization, the group alleges that politicians are corrupt and are allowing the city to ‘crumble.’
For too long, politicians have sat comfortably, securing their fortunes and filling their own pockets, while neglecting the promises they swore to uphold. They speak of change, of service, but when do we really see it? Only when their image demands it, only when the spotlight is bright enough to demand it, they pretend to care. Meanwhile, the city continues to crumble, people struggle, and the powerful turn a blind eye.
How much longer will we accept this cycle of deceit? How much longer will we watch the power we gave them be used against us, feeding their ambition while leaving us voiceless? It’s time for us to stand, not just for ourselves but for the future of our city. Together, united, we are a force that cannot be ignored or reckoned with.
We must demand ACTION, transparency, and honesty from those who claim to represent us. Enough of the empty promises and hollow speeches! Rise up, use your voice, and demand the change they fear. Together, we can hold them accountable, and we, the people, can build a future that belongs to the US, not the powerful few.
Ask yourself, YOU, the person reading this; How many more lies before we have had enough? How many more elections will it be before this city starts to truly crumble? We, the people, must be the ones to take ACTION where it is needed. My friends, now is the time-time we take matters into our own hands.
The police sure aren’t going to keep you safe; we must do that ourselves. Show them-the lying, fake politicians, the police-that we, the people, are tired of the lies, tired of the lack of care. Most importantly, we are simply tired of the lack of ACTION from those who promise it.
The Peoples Movement – Flyer
The flyer does not name any specific figures, nor cite anything to back their provocative claims. Interestingly enough, this movement has emerged during the tenure of the most popular Executive Branch yet, with Governor Barbant scoring high approval scores from the public.
In a second message provided to Shout News, The People’s Movement distributed a call to action.
Citizens of Los Santos, open your eyes to the truth! The very enforcers of the law—those sworn to serve and protect—are the worst offenders. They speed recklessly through our streets, endangering lives and ignoring the rules they demand we follow.
Pedestrians struck, families left grieving, all while they claim to be the hand of justice. This is not protection; it’s oppression. They hide behind their badges, laughing at the rules they break without consequence.
But together, we can resist! We can stand against their hypocrisy and demand accountability. This city belongs to us, not them. Unite with us. Fight back. Resist their corruption. The power is in our hands—let’s use it!
The Peoples Movement – Flyer
This second message is starkly different from the first and is seemingly more personal. While the first flyer alleges broad government inaction, the second flyer does point to more specific allegation surrounding accusations of carelessness towards the public by police.
At this time, no member of TPM has come on record to discuss their grievances with authority, and they have not presented any “next steps” in their plan. While such activism can be laudable and even productive, it remains to be seen whether The Peoples’ Movement finds such a path forward, fizzles out entirely, or chooses a less productive path in a manner similar to The Whisperers and other previous groups whose campaigns have ended in legal trouble.
