Harry Kennedy Avatar

San Andrean citizens are going to an election, with the legislature announcing the dates for the 11th Regular Election.

While the resolution hasn’t passed yet. Without objections, its likely that this resolution will have the same dates when ratified.

Want to be a candidate? Here is a quick rundown on what you need to do before registration day.

1. Familiarize yourself with the San Andreas Election Laws

H.R. 295, or the Government Election Transparency and Integrity Act has most of the information you need for this. Including the rules around campaigning and rules around donations.

The rest of the rules are contained in the constitution. It outlines the eligibility criteria for candidates. At least 18 years of age, a Citizen for at least one month and No Felony convictions within the past three months.

2. Party or Independent?

Are you going to run as a group? You might need to set up a registered Political Party. The definition is “A group of persons or an political organization, organized under a unified banner or title with candidates who seek election or are elected officials.”

If you want to organize a political party, you need to have that submitted before campaigning begins.
