Maxine Finch

Chief Justice Kylian Clarkson re-asked Sunny’s question on what makes the candidates stand out besides those in the past and those currently. When candidates didn’t respond, Clarkson mentioned that silence speaks volumes. Clarkson then pushed for specifics on availability with legislators. They responded as they had similarly with Sunny.

Do you know?

10:30 PM EST

Maxine Finch

A member of the public, Reggie, asked if the candidates actually know who’s running DHS. Emilie mentioned that Miles Matthew is the Director of DHS but isn’t sure if that’s changed. Candidates also mentioned Kate Beers. Astra said they’d branch the gap between the business and DHS couldn’t easily be solved by legislation due to a lack of staff.

Norman Aoki and The “Job Crisis” of San Andreas

10:24 PM EST

Maxine Finch

Norman asked why the candidates felt that there was a lack of job opportunities in the state when there isn’t evidence to suggest that. Astra responded with how DHS could assist. Norman pointed out that DHS already had a list with available jobs, and Astra said he was right. He then turned to Adam Wrangler and asked why he thought he had a chance this time around. Norman then complimented Jack Burton for his charisma.

Several write-ins were brought up from the broadcast and candidates responded in kind. They also mentioned that they were easily accessible to anyone who needed to reach out them.

What’s your specific plans?

10:10 PM EST

Maxine Finch

Winifred Baker asked candidates what their specific plans were for rehabilitation with criminals. Several candidates said that it’s complicated, but informing the public and addressing it was valuable. Candidates went on about the problems of people trying to change their lives but didn’t offer any specifics other than grants and encouragement.

What makes you different?

10:04 PM EST

Maxine Finch

Magistrate Sunny Dae-Cavanagh asks candidates what sets them apart from other candidates and representatives in the past. Rehabilitation was brought up again with Kendrick. Astra said she may be inexperienced, but she’s present and speaking with the public, which is better than most of the last term. Jack Burton says it’d be better to wait and see.

Yuri Devlin and Relationships

09:58 PM EST

Maxine Finch

Yuri Devlin asked how representatives knew what was best when they hadn’t spoken to certain people or departments. Candidates responded in kind.

Governor Candidate Ella and Fireworks

09:53 PM EST

Maxine Finch

Governor candidate Ella-Bright Starr asked Kendrick how she’d be able to actually implement rehabilitation. She explained her stance, and Starr thanked her. Wrangler said starting fires might stave off boredom. Ella then asked how the candidates would address the low numbers of police officers. Burton said that it wasn’t the legislators’ place to fix, but that law enforcement needed to backfill and put people in certain positions. Adam said he liked the lack of cops.

Jacob Wheeler Steps Up

09:49 PM EST

Maxine Finch

Jacob Wheeler steps forward and asks how legislators think they may be able to fix the housing problem when that is often outside the control of the legislative branch. Wheeler, a senior realtor at Dynasty, offered them both numbers and facts about the housing market. When Burton responded, Wheeler said that he hadn’t properly answered the question and asked again how they would be able to fix the housing shortage in San Andreas. Wheeler said that all legislators should have reached out and spoken with Dynasty instead of making statements where they have no power to do anything about. Kendrick agreed but said informing people on the housing marking would still do wonders. Adam Wrangler said he didn’t know how to solve it and Wheeler said thank you to him.

Q&A Begins

A small break is starting. Following the break, the public will be allowed to question the candidates.

Candidates and their Future Legislation

09:42 PM EST

Adam Wrangler says he’d like to legalize suppressors on firearms. Merlin mentioned that legislation allowing people to place anonymous complaints on officers would be nice. Emilie mentions that she’ll continue working on legislation for what the people need. Jack Burton is looking at H.R. 249 and possibly reworking it, amongst other things. Astra is looking at a Stop and Go Police for the stoplights and a Good Samaritan Law. Kendrick will work on legislation that is best for the public.

The Debate is On (Again)

09:42 PM EST

Maxine Finch

Candidates question whether or not Wrangler should be promoting creating legislation to legalize “standing their ground” against law enforcement. Others ask Merlin to elaborate on his former response.

The Experiences of the Reps

09:36 PM EST

Maxine Finch

Tommy Merlin mentions his experiences with the police. He explains that it isn’t the people’s responsibility to walk around their emotions and figure them out. He also recounts other people’s experiences, several of which spoke about how officers intentionally ignored or neglected to assist people within earshot. Wrangler says that sometimes officers are just on power trips and people should be allowed to stand their ground.

Maxine Finch

An arrest is being made while the candidates speak about the relationship between the police and the public.

Ask Twitter

09:21 PM EST

Adam Wrangler states that the most urgent economic problem within San Andreas is housing. He says the best ideas for fixing this problem should come from the people, specifically using Twitter as a means of communication. Other candidates agree that housing is an issue. Emilie says economic disparity is the most pressing concern and she would like to increase IBU to address these problems. Burton compliments his fellow candidates and speaks on rehabilitation.

Cassie Kendrick and Fruit Throwing

09:17 PM EST
