Hi, I’m Audrey Storm. I have always been a big supporter of events throughout the state and love encouraging people to attend. Not only do I want people to attend events, I also want them to know more behind the events, who runs them, why the events exist, and maybe even be inspired to try new things. This has inspired Storm Watch, a forecast of events coming up for the week.
Roxanne Shephard vs US Marshals Service
Wednesday, March 6 – 9:00pm EST
This civil case should be an interesting one to watch. Another case of police escalation that may or may not have been necessary. I think this one could get spicy. It is open to the public, but keep in mind seating is limited. Make sure not to bring any weapons, radios, containers (such as lunch boxes), etc. Learn about the case here.
Addiction Support Group
Thursday, March 7 – 9:00pm EST
This addiction support group is held by DHS (Department of Human Services) and will be at their shelter at Las Lagunas. Suggested topic for this meeting is “Healthy Habits and Routines.” This meeting is open to all types of addictions and those affected by them. It appears DHS is also hiring if you like to help people and do things like this! Their app can be found here.
Galaxy Nightclub’s High Score Gamer Night!
Friday, March 8 – 7:00pm-10:00pm EST
I don’t know too much about this event, but the flyers I keep seeing definitely caught my eye. It looks like DJ Organna will be featuring gamer tunes, including 8bit and gaming remixes. Galaxy has always been a cool spot, lots of lights (in case you are sensitive to flashing lights), fantastic drinks and their staff has always been friendly. Galaxy is located at Power and Clinton, and entry is $300. Make sure to leave your weapons at home or in your car!
The Potluck
Saturday, March 9 – 3:30pm EST
I am very excited for this event. I spoke with the host, Walter Orst about the event. He told me he wanted to do something that would encourage people to talk and be social and also happen earlier in the day for more people to experience. He believes many problems can be solved with the right meal, the right people, and the right environment. People are encouraged to bring food from their favorite restaurant or their favorite homemade dish. There will be two separate food contests, one for amateur cooks who work out of their home, and another for restaurateurs to enter. Anyone interested in entering or learning more may do so here.
State of San Andreas v. Jesse Belle Sawyer
Sunday, March 10 – 3:00pm EST
This is a criminal court case involving arson, hijacking, and a tiny bit more allegedly. This might be an interesting watch– I’m really interested to see the defense on this case. Just as before, it is open to the public, but keep in mind seating is limited. Make sure not to bring any weapons, radios, containers (such as lunch boxes), etc. Learn about the case here.
