The Deputy Warden of the Department of Corrections has issued a press release to address a recent commentary piece Shout News published on behalf of Eddie Bones, who is an employee at the department.
In a commentary piece, titled ‘An Open Letter to Josive Dracul: Eddie’s Piece of Mind’ Eddie Bones, an employee of the department spoke about candidate Josive Dracul’s self–penned Candidate Profile. Eddie accused Josive of writing “false claims” against the Department of Corrections and lying by saying they had ‘been through the system.”
I’m sure you’ve seen my ads on Twitter. While they say “hold law enforcement accountable”, I’m not talking about LSPD, BCSO, Troopers, or even the Marshals. I’m talking about [the Department of Corrections]. I’ve been through the system – I’m not going to lie – but I’ve seen things and heard from people, and we’ve seen citizens on Yeeter asking “What’s wrong with this image?”
Josive Dracul self-penned Candidate Profile
Mr. Dracul has spoken on “being through the system” and if you are reading this, Mr. Dracul, and if I have taken it the wrong way – please do feel free to correct me on it. But not once have you showed up on the MDT as an arrest – and there’s nothing wrong with that! You’re a good citizen of the state. That’s what we want.

The deputy warden stated that the release of MDT information by Eddie Bones on social media and then in the commentary piece was a “breach of someone else’s privacy and reputation.”
While the Department of Corrections is happy to have free-thinking employees with opinions of their own, this is not something we approve of doing at the expense of a breach of someone else’s privacy and reputation…
On behalf of the Department of Corrections, we apologise for the release of information regarding your MDT profile both in a public article and on a social media platform. This should have never happened and we hope this is not something that we ever have to encounter in the future.

The warden also stated that there was misinformation in the piece.
It was stated that “The Department of Corrections is not Law Enforcement..” This is factually incorrect. We are indeed Law Enforcement, however, we are considered “Special Law Enforcement”. We do have the power to make arrests in very specific instances, those being at the behest of a Judge/Justice of the state or inside of the prison itself.

In response Eddie Bones wrote this to Shout News.
