Suspect: Simon De Gaffa

Arresting Officer: Seth Kennedy / Theresa Indigo

Charges: 1x Obstruction of Justice, x4 Aggravated Attempted Murder First Degree

Judge: Chief Justice Kylian Clarkson

Defense: Winifred Baker & Walter Potter

Prosecution: Sunny Dae-Cavanagh & Fallon Garcia

Testimony: Theresa Indigo (Witness Stand), Jason Blackwood (Witness Stand), James Dawn (Witness Stand), Erin Barlow (Deposition), Evelyn Queen (Affidavit), and Yangi Ko (Witness Stand).

Overview: On January 28th, 2024, officers were dispatched to Los Santos International Airport (LSIA) in response to receiving a call about someone rummaging in vehicles. When the police arrived, they watched from afar and witnessed a masked individual breaking into a gray vehicle. The suspect was approached, detained, and read their rights. While the suspect was being read their rights, they answered the phone and ignored the order from the police to turn it off. Shortly thereafter, a motorcycle pulled up, and the suspect hopped on and fled the scene. A police chase ensued.

Eventually, the chase led to a tunnel along Integrity Way, where one suspect attempted to transfer to another vehicle and failed. At the same time, gunfire was exchanged between multiple individuals and police. Two suspects were detained from the scene, and both were later identified as Tom Porter and Jackson Porter before being transported to Bolingbroke State Penitentiary (BBSP).

Later that day, one of the vehicles assumed to have been a part of the incident was found parked alongside a road. The car was examined, and it was determined that it was related to Simon De Gaffa. Other evidence was collected throughout the next few weeks that alleged that Simon had been on the scene during the initial pursuit. Once enough evidence was collected, he was assumed to have been detained, charged, and given bail.

In this case, Simon De Gaffa denies being involved with the aforementioned incident and is fighting all charges.

Important Notes: Yangi Ko testified that Simon De Gaffa was with her on January 28th, 2024. However, before a final verdict was made, Ko was called back onto the witness stand, where a panel of judges investigated her for perjury. Later, during the final verdict, she was found not to have committed perjury.

Chief Clarkson then gave this warning to the court: “It seems that in the past several court cases, witnesses have continued to border on the line of perjury, and the courts have begun to notice. We will begin to crack down on that.”

Final Verdict: Simon De Gaffa was found guilty of four counts of Aggravated Attempted Murder of the First Degree and one count of Obstruction of Justice. They found that the alibi given by Yangi Ko lacked strength and that the testimonies of officers and the evidence provided were conclusive enough to suggest Simon was a part of the scene.

De Gaffa was sentenced to 370 months in BBSP and fined $17,000.
