City Hall, Los Santos — Artemis Blackthorne has stepped down as Secretary of the 9th Congress, although she retains her position as a state representative. Blackthorne was appointed to the position without a vote, as only five candidates registered to run for the position. She released a press release, which was initially published by Weazel News.
The Secretary of the Legislature handles the note-taking and communication responsibilities of the department. (Editorial disclosure: Becks Lawson has served as Secretary of the Legislature for three terms.) Blackthorne called herself “not a good fit.”
She continued, “To me, the Secretary should be capable of attending most if not all Legislative Meetings, not only to serve as a good example, but also to ensure that the meeting notes are taken and taken by the Secretary themselves, and not passed along to them by another who was able to attend.”
The Executive Branch has also lost its Secretary of State, as Link Jordins has stepped down from the position. The Key Administration has yet to comment on the position’s replacement.
