Occupation Ave, Los Santos — Joshua Evans, who was on trial for the first degree murder of Sheriff Deputy Michael Greene, has allegedly been shot and killed by former State Representative Yuri Devlin. Devlin has since been released on bail, pleading not guilty to the charge of Aggravated First Degree Murder.
The incident occurred after the adjournment of his hearing while Joshua Evans was being prepped for transportation to Bolingbroke State Penitentiary.
The Courtroom was evacuated just before the incident occurred, but not the courthouse lobby. It was during this time that police will allege that Yuri Devlin returned with a firearm and shot Joshua Evans, who shortly after was pronounced dead on scene.
Devlin was also charged and plead guilty to Unlawful Possession of a Class 1 Firearm. According to the released court document a .50 Cal Pistol was used.
Hydra Dalton, Joshua Evans attorney, expressed her frustrations on the attack of her client and the circumstances surrounding it.
“It’s fucking frustrating. Officers were inside, and my client just magically ends up dead? He was shot dead and no one will tell me anything. And this is my livelihood, this is a person I spent a lot of time out of my day to defend, and they won’t tell me shit… they had a fucking SWAT car and it took one person with a gun.”

In a press release, Commissioner Barry Hill wrote,
“It is important to note, that the public lobby of the court house was not a “search to enter” sector. Only the active courtroom was made a mandatory “search to enter” area.”

Both Joshua Evans and Yuri Devlin were transported to Pillbox Medical Center for medical examination. Pillbox was temporarily placed on lockdown during this period.
A public docket is expected to be released on this matter in the coming days. Until then, the incident is under investigation.
