Link Jordins steps down as Secretary of State

City Hall, Los Santos — On February 8, Adrian Wojnarowski broke the news that Link Jordins was stepping down from the position of Secretary of State. Jordins, who also helms production company Big Camera Content, served as Secretary of State for three terms under Governor RyRy Avery and Governor Damien Key.

Jordins was instrumental in the passing of H.R. 300, which is the first act to allocate private grants to the media industry when working with government departments on educational materials. (Editorial disclosure: H.R. 300 was passed by the eighth congress, including Maxine Finch and Becks Lawson.)

“I have been planning — no matter who won — to get to the next term, give two weeks’ notice, and retire,” Jordin said in a call with Shout News. “The reason that I’m stepping down is that I’ve done [the job] for 257+ days, I’ve learned a lot. I was one of those people where I wouldn’t talk shit about the government on Twitter – I took the time to go behind the scenes and really figure out who ran the show. I decided, let me learn what’s going on so I can have a well educated opinion when it comes to politics, social shit, the law — and then, when people come to me, I can give them the facts. Which is good, because a lot of people are dumb as shit. I had a lot of people who came to me with questions, and I could supply answers and point them in the right direction. Everyone likes to make up some dumb shit and get mad for no reason. I hate that.”

Jordins stressed the depth of his service, and the connections he built with various departments, ranging from SAFA and PW. “I did it for so long, now I’m like – alright, cool, what’s done is done. I’m happy with what I accomplished.”

It is likely the Key administration will announce a successor in the coming days; we’ll stay tuned for any announcements on that front.

Shame to see him go, but honestly, this new political team of state reps and governor really don’t deserve him. So I’m glad he decides to retire now.

Also good read! Looking forward to seeing more from you guys. I’m rooting for y’all to become the next big news company 🙂
