WordPress.org DOES collect non-personally-identifying information which most websites collect these include:

  • IP Address (not used to identify who the visitor is)
  • Browser Type
  • Language Preferences
  • Referring Site
  • Date & Time of the Visitor Request

  • Advanced Editor Tools by Automattic
    • Purpose: Enhances the word editor by giving us new tools the play with such as accordian dropdowns
  • Akismet Anti-spam: Spam Protection by Automattic
    • Purpose: Anti-Spam system which protects our website from DDoS attacks and login intrusions, it also prevents spam comments amongst other features
  • Block Visibility by Nick Diego
    • Allows us to schedule and hide “blocks” which are elements on the website
  • Custom Fonts Support by Brainstorm Force
    • Allows us to use Helvetica and other custom fonts on the site, because the wordpress fonts are basic and boring
  • Ditty by Metaphor Creations
    • A publishing software which allows us to have that scrolling ticker on the top of the website. Has other functions too
  • Jetpack by Automattic
    • A SEO tool along with an Analytics tool. It takes anonymous views data and allows us to see what posts are performing well, and to check if non NewdayRP sources are accidently engaging with our content. (Its happened at Weazel before, so its just to be safe)
    • It also has backup and security fuctions to allow us to see if there are any website issues that need fixing.
  • PublishPress Authors by PublishPress
    • Allows us to use non wordpress.com accounts for authors, that way no one needs to create 10000 accounts just to use this site.
  • PublishPress Blocks by PublishPress
    • Gives us a wide range of new blocks to play with, more relating to journalism and site information
  • Stackable – Gutenberg Blocks by Gambit Technologies
    • Another block library which allows us to have fancy stuff if we want too
  • SVG Support by Benbodhi
    • Provides native SVG support since thats something WordPress doesn’t do. It also checks SVG’s for any malicious code before putting them on the site.
  • The SEO Framework by The SEO Framework Team
    • Our SEO provider which allows us to have embeds on discord. (Those things that come after you post a link which show the title and the image)
  • User Profile Picture by Cozmoslabs
    • Allows us to add profile pictures to non wordpress.com accounts
  • WPFront Scroll Top by WPFront Team
    • An addon which provides that button in the bottom right corner which you can click on and it will take you to the top of the page so you can save your index finger from scrolling so much.
